Campaign to save Whitchurch Delivery Office

Whitchurch residents have been eager to sign County Councillor John Wall's petition to keep Whitchurch Sorting Office open. Tom McCann and Keith Watts with one of the many supporters of the campaign to save the LDO.

About the campaign

Royal Mail have said that they will close the Delivery Office in Whitchurch on 2nd May 2009 and transfer its work to Priestley Road on the northern outskirts of Basingstoke. They say “Any customers unable to collect mail from Basingstoke Delivery Office can arrange redelivery to their home address, at a mutually convenient time and date, either online or by calling the telephone number on the card notifying them we have an item for them. Alternatively customers can arrange to collect items from a local participating Post Office for a nominal fee.”

Liberal Democrats have organised a petition and this website to fight this closure.
